Dress up don’t dress down
Don’t go to on an interview wearing jeans and a round neck shirt even if the dress code of the company you are applying for is strictly dress down, always dress up to give an impression that you mean business.
Nonverbal communication
Look out for gestures that interviewers give out. The crossed arm usually says that the interviewer is not accepting what you are saying, and if the interviewer touches his or her chin that means that he is thinking about what you said. If you see these gestures you might want to change your interview strategy in order to loosen the interviewers guard. Be sensitive to interviewers gestures in order to pass the interview.
Learn to shut up
Don’t talk too much, it is sometimes better to talk less, don’t give away everything, try to simply answer the interviewers questions. Don’t tell the interviewer more than he needs to know. Keep it short and simple.
Listen carefully
If the interviewer is talking you should listen, he might just be giving away information you could use during the interview. Be very attentive if the interviewer needs to repeat what he just said you might just fail the interview because you might give an impression that you are not sharp enough for the job you are applying for.
The interviewer is not your friend
Don’t try to crack jokes that only you might laugh at, be professional match the interviewers way of talking but don’t go to down to his level if he is unprofessional it might just be his tactic to catch you off guard.
Don’t try to impress the interviewer
You are not a contestant in a beauty pageant, what ever you say will reflect the kind of person you are. Remember the interviewer is looking for good points and bad points from you. It’s better not to give out the wrong impression.
Professional lingo only.
Use professional language only do not use inappropriate words during the interview.
Give examples to your answers.
In other words go into detail, don’t just say "I was able to achieve my goal because I worked hard for it", explain how you did it. Go through the process tell the interviewer the details of how you did it.
Don't show that you are desperate
Do not let the interviewer sense that you are desperate to get the job because you might just lose the interview that way because you will loose your composure, just be yourself, stay calm.
Ask questions
Usually at the last part of the interview you will be asked if you have any questions, this is an opportunity to express your interest in the compnay, ask pertinent questions about the kind of product or service the company is into but don't over do it one or two questions is good enough
