The business of selling

If you ever tried selling anything you would have discovered that it takes skills to succeed in this very competitive field.

I was lucky to be present in a lecture that was given by a seasoned sales manager, she said that it takes a lot of P's to make it in sales. Pain, Perseverance, Persistence, Projection, Position, Power, Product, Price, Place, and Promotion.

Pain, because you will definitely experience pain when people don't buy from you, or from a lost sale.

We all know that it takes Perseverance and Persistence to be able to sell and make selling work for.

The right Projection is also needed in order to Position what you're selling in front of your buyers.

You also need the will Power to continue what you are doing, and of course the right Product with the right Price at the right Place will reward your Promotion efforts.

If you can find the right combination to all the P's of Selling you definitely make it in Sales.

Free email reminders

I use Gmail and I'm satisfied with it because of the enormous benefits I get from it. Like none expiring email, more than 1 Gig capacity, auto response and a lot more.

But there is one thing that Gmail can't do, that's to send routine email reminders to me. Probably Gmail will have this feature in the future, but for now I need a Free email reminder that I could use.

I need email reminders because I need to be reminded of what to do all the time, or I will not be able to accomplish anything. So I asked around for a great email reminder that I could use and I was told that myemailreminders.com is a free email reminder service that I could use which will send me routine email for birthdays, things to do, appointments, and a lot of other important things to accomplish.

So far it's been working well for me, give it a try and leave a comment if it's working for you.

Jobstreet is using Text Marketing

I got a text message from jobstreet the other day saying that there is a job fair for techsupport agents in one of the SM malls, and these questions immediately crossed my mind.

1. How many people received the same text message from jobstreet?
2. How much are they spending to send out the text message to the provider's network?
3. How can I use text marketing to my advantage?

I'm planning to interview or contact one of these cellular networks and once I get information I will post it here.

Text messaging is truly one of the most engaging communication tool a business could tap, and since almost everybody has a cellular phone text marketing is one marketing technique one should not ignore.

This blog is 3 years old this month

I am not sure if I am going to refer to myself as a blogger because as we all know bloggers blog all the time or at least once a day. But in my case I blog when there something new that I found or there is something very interesting that I want to share, and I want to refer to it later, and of course I blog if I have the time and the resources.

Unlike other blogs that tackles a particular topic this blog is a mixture of a lot of things, just look at the labels and see what I mean.

This blog has been around for 3 years now. My first blog post was September 2006 and since then I've explored a lot of things online and offline and posted them here. When I go back to my old blog posts I find a lot of imperfections which I try to correct but since I only blog when I have the time and resources I am unable correct all the imperfections.

That is how life is I guess, you notice the imperfections and try to correct them but if you can't you just have to move on and do your best with what you have right now.

I have used tinyURL in the past and I am still using it to convert long URLs to short ones,it's a very useful online tool and I recommend you use it too. You could directly go to their site by typing in www.tinyurl.com on the address bar from now on I will be keeping track of all the long URLs that I converted on tinyurl this way I could easily go back or use the converted URLs when I need to.

The good thing about TINYURL is that you can customize the address, you simply type the address you would like use click the submit button or "Make Tiny URL" button and you will instantly have your long URL converted to a short URL you like.

Another benefit is that you could hide your affiliate links. You've heard about affiliate links being stolen or replaced by hackers, now you can easily convert your precious money making affiliate links to a shorter, safer link.

Lastly according to the creators of TINYURL the links will not expire it will be there forever try out the links that I converted and you will see that it's been there for a while.

When is it too late to start a band?

When you're in your 30s, 40 or 50s?
When you have kids to take care of?
When you have a full time job and you don't have the time to practice or perform?
When you have a business to run?

I guess the correct question to ask is when are you going to give up your urge to play an instrument or scream your lungs out, or pen a heart felt song?

For most musicians I know NEVER would be their immediate answer. I guess when you have music in you and you love what you are doing it's never too late to start something worthwhile like a starting a band of your own, it's only too late when you think it's too late, don't give up your desire of performing just because there are hindrances in life. It doesn't matter what people say, what matters is what you want to do and want to happen, so as the LEGEND Pepe Smith always say - ROCK ON!
